Ranchmakers are our 50% SM 50% AN or 25% SM 75% AN females. They are called Ranchmakers because that is what they are. They are the result of careful breeding selection to optimize the maternal traits that create profitability, while balancing growth and carcass merit that buyers demand in their calves.
Ranchmakers provide predictable hybrid vigour that adds to profitability. Research has repeatedly shown the advantages of heterosis. Compared to a straightbred cow, the F1 cow averages the equivalent of weaning 1 extra calf in her lifetime. This is accomplished through enhanced fertility, improved disease resistance, stronger maternal ability, greater calf vigour and improved growth in the offspring.
Ranchmakers are produced from our mature cows. By combining the strengths of our high calibre Angus based cowherd with balanced Simmental and Simm-Angus sires we can offer replacement females with doability and demand for their calves. By only selecting these heifers out of our proven cows, you get the added benefit of a background with proven longevity and productivity.
These females have the ability and training to graze like their mommas with a wee bit of added pop from the Simmental side. Ranchmakers are slick-hided, polled and are solid red or black in color. All Ranchmakers come through our health program and are vaccinated and boostered on the BI Prime Protection program and our entire cowherd is on the BI Express Verified program, meaning the heifers carry the BI Express Guarantee. All heifers are raised on a straight forage diet. They may not be as fat as other heifers, but they are grown out to ensure their long-term success in your cowherd.
